The UK Met Office is a science-led organisation and our success in weather forecasting and climate prediction depends, critically, on having a world-class research programme.

The current science strategy (for the period 2016 to 2021) aims to deliver science with impact, maximising the benefit to society of our weather and climate expertise, and making the most of the UK government's investment in Met Office high performance computing.
